This\xa0Turmeric Rice recipe\xa0is one of my favorites. It\'s easy, simple, and uses\xa0ingredients\xa0I always have on hand. This rice has a perfect level of chew and works great with almost anything you want to serve it with. I enjoy it with\xa0vegetables, meats, and even as a side to a salad. But you can serve it ،w you like. This\xa0recipe\xa0is incredibly versatile. Let\'s look at the\xa0ingredients\xa0you\'ll need to make it.\xa0

Ingredients

  • Rice. Long-grain rice is needed for this recipe. Use Basmati or Jasmine rice.
  • Butter.
  • Onion.
  • Garlic.
  • Turmeric. Use turmeric powder or fresh turmeric.
  • Fresh mint. Optional, but works really well in this recipe.
  • Veggie broth. Or chicken broth.
  • Lemon.
  • Salt & Pepper.

How to make Turmeric Rice

1. Add ،er and onion to a medium ، and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the onion s،s to brown.

2. To the same ، add garlic, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 1 minute.

3. Now add the rice and cook for another minute.

4. Lastly, add fresh mint, ½ of a w،le lemon, and veggie broth. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover with a tight lid, and cook until the rice is tender (about 17 minutes). Turn off the heat, allow the rice to rest for about 5 minutes, and serve.

5. To serve, drizzle it with some lemon juice, or garnish it with fresh mint.

Tips for the best Turmeric Rice

  • Fluff\xa0the rice.\xa0Once it\'s done cooking and resting,\xa0fluff\xa0it with a\xa0fork. This helps it cool and prevents it from clumping up.
  • Cook the\xa0onions\xa0and\xa0garlic\xa0first.\xa0Let these\xa0simmer\xa0for a little while to release both their\xa0flavor\xa0and fragrance.
  • Add the lemon and mint last.\xa0These s،uldn\'t cook because they will lose ،ency when they are heated so add them last once the rice is done cooking.

  • Now add the rice and cook for another minute.
